Catherine Herrick Lewis is an artist, educator, and mother of two living in Brooklyn, New York. Lewis’ multidisciplinary creative practice encompasses both works on paper and fiber while exploring themes of duality throughout nature, art, and motherhood. Lewis’ current body of work explores the motherhood/caretaker journey through the parallel stories of trees as similar bearers of historical and environmental weight. Lewis has been a Professor in the Design Program at Hostos Community College CUNY in the South Bronx since 2010.
